More than five centuries ago, the Kingdom of Erindor was born. King Erin Highmoor, later called the Great, united the land after defeating a terrible darkness. The people granted him their loyalty, and his realm became a beacon of safety in a turbulent world.
Over the next centuries, the Kingdom endured many trials. The Brother’s War with the neighboring country of Breamor raged for nearly thirty years, ending only through marriage and diplomacy. In the decades that followed, fear of sorcery led to a bloody civil war and hunt for mages. It was Queen Elué, a powerful mage, who restored balance by founding the Schola Arcanis some four hundred years ago. Her academy brought structure to magic and for almost three centuries Erindor thrived in a Golden Age. But peace never lasts.
The full history of Erindor can be found here.
The War of the Nobles – 150 Years Ago
When the King died without a clear heir, the realm fractured. Houses turned on one another in open civil war. Villages burned, famine spread, and monsters thrived in the chaos. For nearly thirty years, Erindor was a land of betrayal and suffering.
The Triumvirate of Evil – 100 Years Ago
From the ashes of that noble war rose a darker threat: three sorcerers who bent chaos and death to their will. Undead armies marched, abominations stalked the forests, and the king himself was murdered! It was then that The Order was born, an iron hand uniting Justicars, Mages, and eventually Venators into one weapon against the darkness. The Triumvirate was defeated, but their corruption scarred the land forever…
The Last Fifty Years
Roughly fifty years ago, the Venator Program was created to face a resurgence of monsters in the north. These altered and mutated hunters, neither fully human nor entirely monstrous, became the Order’s living weapons. The (ab)use of Venators and what this means morally for the Kingdom and The Order is still an ongoing topic to this day.
For decades, King Edmund III has ruled Erindor. Now in his eighties, his long reign has seen both prosperity and growing unrest. The Iron Hand of the Order certainly brought peace to the realm, at least to the center of it. The outskirts of the kingdom are still plagued by bandits, monsters and lawlesness in general.
Some dare to wonder if the price for that peace, the (forced) servitude of Mages, Justicars and Venators, is truly worth it?
The Present
In the last decade, the Silverwoods have become the stage for a new chapter:
- Nine years ago (501 KF): Young initiates, Venators, Mages, and Justicars alike, began their trials at the Questcamp. Old threats resurfaced, including werewolves, but the realm held firm and a new generation of The Order was cheered upon. (These where the events of Erindor I : Initiation)
- Two years ago (508 KF): Chaos-infused wildlings and horned demons launched assaults on the northern borders. The Questcamp nearly fell and a nightmare beast known only as the Visiondrix terrorized the region before vanishing.
(These where the events of Erindor II: Tooth & Claws) - This year (510 KF): The events of Erindor III: The Wildling War
- Full war with the demonic hordes erupted from the North. A rare alliance with the northren Wildling clans brought a close victory, but the cost was heavy. The army of the Kingdom suffered heavy losses. After one hundred years of peace, the Kingdom was in shock. The members of The Order, stationed at the northren Questcamp held their ground and managed to stop a Horned demon general called “Abysalus”. But not before this infernal villain managed to lay a curse upon the verry land near the Questcamp.
- That same night, a necromantic surge swept across the Silverwoods, raising the recently dead soldiers and demons alike and destroying the village of Thistlebrook in the process. Survivors scattered and whispers speak of an undead army now marching further north…
- Something or someone triggered this sudden awakening of necromantic energy at the Questcamp, some blame the hornded devils, some blame a red mage called “Frederik” one of the mages stationed at the Questcamp, saying he was working for no other then “Archmage Blackfyre” (a teacher and influencial person of the Schola Arcanis), others say even more nefarious things where being played in the shadows.
- Meanwhile, knowledge of magic itself has shifted. With the rediscovery of the Codex of Domains, the Weave is now understood as five primal forces: White, Blue, Red, Green, and Black. Chaos is no longer seen as pure corruption, but as raw, untamed magic. This revelation has shaken the Schola and the Order alike… sparking discussions all over the realm.
- Our last Event: Erindor IV: The Orders Tribulations.
(still in the year 510KF, two weeks after Erindor III)- The King dispatched a Royal Investigator to uncover the cause of this necromantic burst. His findings shook the Schola: evidence pointed to Mage Frederik von Richtenstein, acting under orders of Archmage Blackfyre, as being directly tied to the event. Reports claim Frederik was seen in secret conversation with a ghoul like entity near the Questcamp, and that he was pursuing a lost tome of necromancy. Though the book itself has not been recovered, Frederik is now held in custody at the Schola Arcanis his fate uncertain, his loyalties questioned.
- Archmage Blackfyre is also under investigation, but he has yet to return to the Schola from his travels towards the North.
- The ritual of the Horned Demon called Abysalus has a more dire effect on the land than first thought. Normally these chaos-infused spots lose energy and power over time, dissolving on their own. Yet this corrupted area slowly expanded! Even worse, the chaos spot started to attract all sorts of monsters and villainous beings, such as hags, vampires and werewolves.

Erik Thislethorn – Chaos Mage, Outlaw and Betrayer of the Order
Erik Thislethorn is one of the most feared figures in the Western Silverwoods. Once a mage of promise, he stood alongside Sethryn Slade at the birth of the Venator Program nearly fifty years ago. Many Venators still carry his personal mark and scars, from those early days of brutal experiments.
While brilliant, Erik’s obsession with power led him down a path of chaos and destruction. Turning against the Order he once served, he founded the Red Hand Gang, a ruthless band of raiders and killers. Despite repeated efforts, the Order has failed to bring him to justice. Whispers claim his wife, Lucinda, is a vampire, and that Erik consorts with hags, ghouls, and worse.
His betrayal left scars beyond the Silverwoods. The fall of House Eldeep is often linked to his influence, though the full truth remains known only to those who lived it. Out of respect, the details are left to the family’s surviving heirs to share, or not.
Yet hope remains. Through the valiant efforts of the Order at the Questcamp, Erik’s true location may soon be revealed, offering a chance to finally end his reign of terror.
The Kingdom Today
- House Ravenspire grows dangerously influential in the Western Silverwoods.
- There’s been a marriage between Ser Elmer Goluberis and Katheryne Ravenspire (the oldest daughter of the noble House) at the Questcamp itself. Overseeing the marriage was Hermann Ravenspire, the brother of Lord Ravenspire himself.
- Some see this is a good thing, finally a noble house steps up and truly wants the aid the Silverwoods get out of the dark and bring some safety to the region.
