Silverwood County & The Wildlands

Ravencroft City: Ravencroft, the urban heart of Silverwood County, is a city that embodies a fusion of medieval charm and thriving trade. Its streets are lined with gothic architecture and cobblestone pathways, while merchants, craftsmen, and noble houses’ grand estates provide a bustling atmosphere. The city’s namesake, House Ravenspire, reigns from the grand Raven’s Keep at its center. The city’s hub of commerce and culture make it a vital location in the region. Its history intertwines with the neighboring Eldeep Estate, a grand house and lands that once held a noble lineage.

Eldeep Estate: The Eldeep Estate, situated north from Ravencroft, is a sprawling expanse of lush woodlands, pastures and a small hamlet. Once a revered noble family’s domain, it has now fallen into disrepair, bearing the legacy of a tarnished reputation. Its elegant manor, vineyards, and vibrant gardens are now cloaked in an eerie silence and withering away, a stark contrast to its former days of glory. House Eldeep’s fortune took a nosedive, leading to its decline. The estate and the bordering lands now lie under the governance of The Order, who have plans with it to potentially make it a new and stronger foothold in the region of the Silverwoods.

Goluberis Hollow: Goluberis Hollow, a small town located near the serene shores of a the river Brimm, embodied once a sense of unity and optimism. The townsfolk are resilient, tightly knit, and proud to uphold the legacy of their region’s original ruling family, House Goluberis. The town’s bountiful farms, particularly its lush vineyards, have become a symbol of their determination. However, Golluberis Hollow is still grappling with the challenges brought about by House Colluberis’s fall from grace. With the guidance of House Ravenspire, they strive to maintain their way of life and economic prosperity, producing some of the finest wines in the region, including the renowned “Colluberis Vintage,” in a collective effort to honor their noble heritage.

Thistlebrook: Unfurtunatly the town of Thislebrook was destroyed by a horde of undead, a result of the necromantic flux. The town was ruled by House Thorneveld, a noble family with deep ties to the land and a longstanding tradition of horticulture. There where little to no survivors and the house of Thorneveld fell together with Thistlebrook… since the growing dangers of the northren region, the Kingdom has no interest in restoring Thislebrook. Rather they are locatign the few survivors to Goluberis Hallow.

Oakhaven: Nestled deep within the dense Silverwood forest, Oakhaven is a town that derives its name from the mighty oak trees that dominate the region. The town’s economy revolves around lumber production and woodworking, and its skilled craftsmen are known for their fine wooden furniture and intricate carvings. Oakhaven is also a hub for forestry research, boasting a renowned arboretum and tree nursery. The town is under the governance of House Ravenspire, Oakhaven, finds itself perched on the edge of the perilous Wildlands, making it a place both rugged and isolated. These factors contribute to the scarcity of outsiders who venture into its tranquil but remote environs.

During the war with the horned demons of the north, the Hero Ser Theron Heartflame rallied the people of Oakhaven and made sure they stood a chance against those infernal enemies. In Ser Theron Heartflame’s honor, the Ravenspire family errected a bronzen statue on the town square.

The Wildlands

The Wildlands, lying north of the Kingdom of Erindor, are a harsh and unforgiving frontier. For centuries, small clans of Wildlings, orcs, and goblins have lived there, fiercely independent, bound to the land, and deeply protective of their way of life. To outsiders they often appear hostile, but they are not evil by nature. They are survivors, shaped by the wilderness and the threats that stalk it.

Contact with the Wildlanders has always been dangerous, yet not impossible. Through respect and patience, outsiders have at times earned their trust. During the recent war against the horned demons, the Order even forged a rare alliance with several clans, a fragile pact that brought victory at great cost.

Still, the Wildlands remain perilous. Bandits roam unchecked, monsters stalk the forests and mountains and chaos-touched creatures are never far from sight. The Brim River, which cuts through the region, carries both opportunity and danger: a lifeline for trade, but also a hunting ground for raiders and pirates who strike along its banks.

The Order remains ever watchful at this border, striving to contain the dangers of the north. But their vigilance is stretched thin, especially now that the necromantic wave has swept across the Wildlands, raising an army of undead from ruined battlefields and long-forgotten graves.

The Wildling Clans

Scholars believe the Wildlings once shared ancestry with the people of Erindor, before breaking away to follow a more nomadic life in the far north. Others claim they where already there long efore the Erendorians came these lands.

Their traditions center on nature, spirits, and the voices of their ancestors. Many of their “priests” wield untrained magic, which some in the Order condemn as chaos — though the Wildlings see it as sacred.

Years ago, a Justicar demanded that these priests be purged. King Edmund III, however, refused, recognizing the clans as sovereign peoples. That decision proved wise: in the recent war, their warriors stood side by side with Erindorian soldiers against the demon hordes.

Even so, little is truly known of their lives. Some clans remain nomadic, roaming the wilderness, while others have built fortified villages among the wastes. Now, with the undead horde advancing and chaos lingering in the land, both Kingdom and Wildlanders face the same truth: survival in the Wildlands grows harder with each passing year.
