A brief history

The Kingdom of Erindor has a long and storied history, stretching back over a thousand years. It was founded by a group of brave warriors and adventurers who came to the land seeking a new home. Over time, the kingdom grew and flourished, becoming a center of trade, culture, and learning.

However, one hundred years ago, the kingdom faced its greatest challenge. A group of dark mages, seeking to gain more power and influence formed a terrible force against the Kingdom. These dark sorcerers dabbled into necromancy and other dark magics that summoned dark and nightmarish beings from beyond the fabrics of reality.

The Kingdom and his neighboring countries suffered from the vast and massive army of unnatural monsters and their dark masters. In these dark days the Order of The Chimera was assembled. Through the power of the Justicars, the cunning of the Venetors and the wisdom of the Magi, the dark masters were defeated and the realm was saved from utter destruction.

Unnatural alterations.

The dark and twisted events that occurred one hundred years ago in the Kingdom of Erindor had far-reaching consequences beyond the immediate destruction and devastation it had caused. The very fabric of the world was changed and the aftermath would be felt for centuries to come.

One of the most noticeable changes was the alteration of the world’s wildlife. The dark taint that had seeped into the land caused a mutation in many creatures, turning them into dangerous beasts with otherworldly powers. These creatures, known as “monsters,” were feared by the people of Erindor. It is only through the Order of the Chimera that these monsters are hunted and destroyed, to keep the Kingdom safe.

The Order of the Chimerae

The ancient Order of the Chimera took it’s inspiration in an old myth:

When the first King and his people came to this land, almost a thousand years ago, they found it was inhabited by mystical beasts of wonder and destruction. One of them was a dark dragon who’s breath was poison and his mind cruel and wicked. To claim the land the people would have to defeat this terrible dark beast who ruled as a tyrant. They received help from an other mythical beast, a noble Chimera. The legend says that the King together with his brother and sister rode the Chimera into battle against the dark dragon and killed it, freeing the land of terror.”

From then on the Chimera had a special place in the hearth of Erindor and it’s people. You’ll find it on tabards, coins and now even in the name of the order that protects us all from evil and monsters.

  1. The Venetors: This subgroup is dedicated to hunting and slaying dangerous monsters that threaten the safety of the kingdom. Members of this group are highly skilled in combat and often use silver weapons to combat werewolves, vampires, and other supernatural creatures. They are known for their bravery and selflessness in the face of danger. They are cunning hunters and true survivalists.
  2. Schola Arcanis: This subgroup focuses on the study and control of magic. Members of this group are highly skilled in the arcane arts and often serve as advisors to the court on matters of magic and mysticism. They are responsible for regulating the use of magic within the kingdom and ensuring that it is not used for nefarious purposes. Only trained magi of the Schola Arcanis are allowed to use their magic, all other sources of magic is seen as wild and chaotic magic. A danger to all.
  3. The Justicars: This subgroup is responsible for upholding the law and maintaining order within the kingdom. Members of this group are highly trained in combat and are often called upon to serve as judges, enforcers, and protectors of the people. They are known for their unwavering commitment to justice and their dedication to the safety and well-being of the citizens of the kingdom.
